Public land is abundant in Wisconsin, but do you know the difference between a State Park and a State Wildlife Area? What about a State Forest and a State Wildlife Area? What makes our wildlife areas special is that hunting and trapping are allowed on almost all of their acreage. Not only is hunting and trapping allowed, but it really is encouraged. In fact, Wisconsin Wildlife Areas are actually managed in part to provide visitors with positive hunting and trapping experiences. Find out how wildlife managers balance keeping wildlife populations healthy and providing numerous hunting and trapping opportunities.
