Join us for a spring property clean-up to celebrate Earth Day!

Check-in at the visitor center at 8:00 a.m. to get your route for roadway/trail clean-up. Over the next several hours, you will pick up trash and note large items that you need assistance removing. Return to the visitor center at noon to enjoy lunch with us!

This year, we have an ambitious day planned. We are also looking for assistance cleaning up a newly acquired 5-acre piece of land owned by the Friends of Crex. If you are willing to do work that is a bit more strenuous, we want your help! Expect to spend the morning removing fencing and fence posts, scrap metal, and various trash before heading back for lunch at noon. If you’d like to assist with this property but don’t feel comfortable removing fencing we also need 1-2 volunteers to pick up miscellaneous trash in the area – just be sure to let us know.

Trash bags, dumpsters, reflective vests, rubber gloves, and a limited number of trash grabbers will be provided. We recommend bringing work gloves and a trash grabber if you have one.
